		<description>I am the translator of this poem.  One correction: Szmul Zygielbojm did not shoot himself. He committed suicide by turning on the gas in his London apartment.This was after the Polish Underground courier Jan Karski smuggled microfilms showing the plight of Jews in occupied Poland to the Polish Government in exile in London and despite  many attempts by the Polish goverment to get the Allies to act on this, there was only lukewarm response or even total lack of interest.
